A Cynergized Conclusion

Well, we’re finally here, at the end of the project. We have finished it with our prototype called “The Ceed”. It’s a tool meant to empower the front runners. With this they can use it as an assisting tool to convince the people around them to switch to green energy. Next to that, it’s a great way to start a discussion on the topic.

The way this tool works is that it will ask you a question related to natural gas and green energy usage. Three people can answer this at the same time and therefore share their thoughts and decisions. It will then be followed by a short animation, different for each question and altered in a positive or negative future view depending on what you answered.

We hope this result can help people to further develop this concept and make a change to Amsterdam and the world.

It was certainly an experience for all of us. Although we might our separate ways after this project, this is certainly something to remember.

Sprint 4

So, this sprint was the beginning of a run of sunny days, and not just sun, but also temperatures rising up to 25 degrees!

Yes, this made it pretty much impossible to work.

\

This here is Jake on the first day of sun, almost 3 days into our first sprint. I’d say we all pretty much looked like Jake, anxiously waiting to go out to the sun. However, like the responsible adults we are, we finished a few tasks to help us move onto the next phase of our project. Continue reading “Sprint 4”

Sprint 3

The sprint started off with a visit from two Italian designers who took a look at our project with the goal to help us improve and assist us moving forward. This came kind of unexpected to us which limited our personal time in the sprint.  Personally we didn’t feel like it was that beneficial. Don’t get me wrong, having the professionals come over was nice, but the amount of times we had to explain our stuff that we had already made or were already planning to do felt like we wasted time.  This week was also shortened by the eastern weekend.

Updates!

Is there such thing as “too well”?

So, last week was our first sprint review, and it’s a little worrisome that it went too well. The presentation went great, partners were impressed, we were happy with the outcome, but then, that’s not always a good thing and here’s why:

  1. Are we going to be able to keep up with the standard we set? (which btw, is too hard to maintain every sprint)
  2. The partners now want to be more involved in the project

Cynergy with a C

Welcome to our blog!

Last week we started with a new adventure: an internship at MediaLab. After a couple of days getting to know each other and emerging ourselves in scavenger hunting, cooking challenges and listening to each others Pecha Kucha presentations… It’s time to get started!

The first task was to create an identity for our team. We talked, discussed, dreamt and came up with a lot of ideas. Looking through this sea of ideas we decided to go with Cynergy: Continue reading “Cynergy with a C”
